Most don't know that most of the Revolutionary War was fought and won in the Southern States of both Carolinas and Georgia. South Carolina has an estimated 560+ Revolutionary War battlefields, more than any other colony. This isn't well know because of the bias against the South that followed the Civil War. The history of the South was shunned and removed from history books due to the hatred for the South and it's people after the war. The South's place in the Revolution is slowly being made known, but it will take time to educate the American public.

I was interested to have run into your blog on Liberties Kids. I too have watched LK with interest over the years, however I have assumed LK was designed to interest pre-schoolers in the EVENTS surrounding and contributing the Rev War. Compared to 95% of even Adult programming the subject matter is refreshing and ENDEAVORS to cover many of the diverse complexities that contributed to the war. I teach also, at many levels. Many of my contemporaries attempt to saturate an 'audience' with detail, which interests other historians but cause most of the audience to glaze over and make few allowances for most other folks. Historians WILL learn on their own. It has been my experience, however, that Joe Public and his kids have to believe they are being entertained before you can slip in a real learning experience and I have been quite successful at it. LK does the same thing.

Daniel has written an interesting, and I must admit, even-handed review of my favorite show on television.

I would read this blog more often, if you updated it more regularly.
